Putting Weight On A Saddlebred Rescue

Posted by Michael Peterson on

This is Sam. We adopted him from a saddlebred rescue (The American Saddlebred Legacy Foundation) as a four year old. He was so super nervous. So hard to keep weight on. We tried fat supplements, different feeds, ulcer prevention supplements and medications, calming supplements. Nothing really worked. People couldn’t believe I rode him because he was so “crazy”. I kept seeing GastroElm Plus in my Facebook feed, so I went out on a limb and ordered some. It was like a miracle. He is much, much less anxious (not totally gone, but I just think that’s never going to go...

GastroElm Plus Helps Horse To Eat Again

Posted by Michael Peterson on

My horse Rex stopped eating all his supplements which he needs along with his hay pellets.  Someone mentioned ulcers but I so didn't have hundreds of dollars to get him scooped and then whatever the treatment would cost. I thought to myself: Hey! I"ve got GastroElm Plus. So for 3 days he got a tiny serving of hay pellets and gastroelm about 30 minutes before I fed him his breakfast and dinner meals (minus the supplements as I didn't want to waste them).  Within 3 days of twice a day doses of gastroelm he was back to eating his supplements! He has...

GastroElm Plus Helps Rescue Horse With Colic

Posted by Michael Peterson on

This is my rescued horse, Pride’s Viper.   His history was horrible. He came to a friend with most of the hide beaten off one side of his neck. The friend spent several months rehabilitating Pride but was never able to ride him consistently because Pride would spook & jump at any little movement. Since my friend knew my history with the TN Walking Horse breed, they asked if I could take him. I agreed immediately & brought him to live with my herd & me.  Pride was nervous about everything new & it was all new. Kindness, good feed,...

Rescue Horse Puts Weight Back On

Posted by Michael Peterson on

This is a great example of a horse putting weight back on after using GastroElm Plus.  Once they start feeling better and eating normally, everything else falls into place.  We received this message from Michele about two months after she started using GastroElm Plus.   This is Q. I rescued her about 8 months ago. She was 18 years old and had severe ulcers. She wouldn’t eat anything that I purchased.   When I found GastroElm Plus, I started her on it morning and night. For the first 2 weeks I mixed the product with aloe juice and syringed it into...

Using GastroElm Plus for Colic in a Rescue Horse

Posted by Michael Peterson on

Animals who have been subjected to cruel conditions whether mental or physical tend to develop anxiety and other emotional traits that can also manifest as physical illness.  For horses it’s often digestive issues such as ulcers or colic.  Here is an email we recently received from one such case.   I started using the GastroElm Plus because of a rescue horse that had, in his past life, been badly abused.  He was very fearful and tended to colic with the slightest changes in diet or weather.  I suspected ulcers were a result of the past abuse as well as mental...
