GastroElm Plus Helps Improve Mare’s Demeanor

I have a mare that has gone back into regular training after several months off. She has been a bit grumpy when tacking up. We have checked everything and have come to the conclusion that it’s a mare thing. I came across GastroElm from a recommendation on a fb page (can’t remember which one) and figured, why not?

After a month of being on GastroElm Plus, the mare seemed less cranky, but we didn’t know if it was because the training was helping or the GEP…..so, we decided to STOP the GEP to see if she reverted back to full on crankiness…sure enough, she did!!! We put her BACK on GastroElm Plus, and the crankiness subsided yet again.

This was great news as GastroElm Plus is inexpensive and easy to feed (I own and operate a small boarding facility, so simplicity is key!) My mare gobbles it up when mixed into some sticky feed. hoping to see continuous improvements in my mare as we keep feeding her this product!

Thanks GastroElm!

Barrel Horse In Training Has Big Attitude Change on GastoElm Plus

I started using GastroElm Plus about two-and-a-half to three months ago. My young horse was pissy, would ring his tail when riding and even offer a buck if I got my heels into his sides. I was wondering what the heck I had bought to make a barrel horse. But then, I saw GastroElm on Facebook.

I was about to go to the omeprazole but that was so expensive at $35 a tube and for extreme results you have to give it for 30 days. That is way over my budget. So, I tried GastroElm Plus instead.  Within the first week I noticed a difference. He was riding more quiet & committal was not switching as bad and he didn’t get all huffy puffy when I asked him to try something different in our training process.

Everyone who knows this horse from before I bought him cannot believe the horse he has turned out to be. I owe it all to Gastroelm.  He has become my friend and gives his heart at everything he does now instead of worrying over how much he hurts. No, I did not have him scoped for ulcers but I definitely believe that was his problem. I have never seen a horse turn around so fast in attitude and performance.

Thank you!

Elena Got Her Horse Back with GastroElm Plus

Our horse stories all start differently. However, the same for all of us, is a quest to keep our horses happy, healthy and comfortable. Cochise’ and my love story, started eight years ago when I impulse bought an eleven month old paint colt that I fell in love with at first sight. Getting him that young offered challenges and great opportunities. I got to really know him, especially since he lives at home with me. My relationship with him is most unique due to the ability to get him as a baby, assist with his gelding, train him in everything from cross ties to, hand walking down the road, bits and bridling, games, to riding in the woods, to trailering, self loading, hunter paces, dressage training, and the list goes on. He has an amazing work ethic. He WANTS to work. He WANTS the attention. He WANTS time with me. We have a connection, communication, understanding, and regard that I cherish. That said, he’s a thinker. He’s a beautiful concoction of boldness, brass, sweetness, affection, cunning, compassion, gentility, bullishness, insolence, bravery and grace, all rolled up into one amazing being.

Sigh. I had some big changes in my life over the past three years which resulted in some big changes in his: boarding for the first time; me not living WITH him; then moving to a new farm with me, and then enduring the wettest, buggiest and hottest of summers ever — in this new setting. This was a totally new area for us. I had no idea what was coming or how to prepare for it.

Last summer, his disposition suddenly and dramatically changed. It was very alarming. I was so upset for him. It was a miserable summer. It rained every week. Can we say MUD? The heat, rain, humidity and bugs were worse than anything we had ever experienced before. He was suddenly cranky with furled eyebrows, and pursed lips. He was almost mean. He started cribbing.

I deduced that he probably started developing some stress over a gradual amount of time with all of these changes and reached a threshold where something started to really bother and or hurt him. Thinking of tummy issues first, I started researching gut-related reasons for sudden temperament changes and products therefor. My friend Rita told me about GastroElm Plus. I tried it and wow was I impressed, surprised and thrilled! It was a missing piece of a puzzle. I got my horse back! I prepare it five minutes before giving it and he gobbles it up! If you board, you can make up to a week’s worth and refrigerate it to either give yourself or ask your facility to include in your horse’s meals. It’s cost effective. Cochise is comfortable and once again back to himself as only I know him to be. I strongly endorse this product and thank the wonderful folks GastroElm Plus! Cochise will never be without it!

Thank you GasroElm Plus for giving me my horse back!

Barrel Horse With Ulcers

Thank goodness I found GastroElm Plus. I was at my wits end with my granddaughter’s barrel horse, Waylon. A beautiful gelding but with the ulcers and stomach concerns it was alarming to us that he would be fine one day and terrible the next. We made countless attempts trying different things but I prefer to try and stay as natural as possible. When I discovered GastroElm Plus, I was hopeful we found a solution.

We noticed a change within a day of starting him on it. The first two days, much to our surprise he ate and finished his bucket of feed. This alone was such an accomplishment considering prior to using the Gastro Elm Plus we were at the point of hand feeding him and forcing him to finish. Within a two week time frame he was back to his spunky self and working good again. His shiny coat has been an added bonus!

I’ve recently started my other gelding who is slightly older on it and couldn’t be happier with the results.

Using GastroElm Plus Prior To Horse Shows

One thing we hear quite often is a horse that seems to be fine on a day to day basis, but shows signs of anxiety, distress and other changes in demeanor when attending a horse show.  Other customers have commented that these types of changes occur when simply loading into a trailer or even tacking up.  Some horses (including ours) can go so far as displaying signs of colic after leaving for the day to attend training or a show.

In most cases these are signs of an underlying condition that is aggravated by excess stomach acid during periods of stress.  As in humans, digestive issues such as mild ulcers can be exacerbated in times of stress.  Even if your horse loves going to shows and gets excited it’s still a form of stress increasing the production of stomach acid.  GastroElm Plus can help to protect the stomach and entire digestive tract.  Simply give a tablespoon of GastroElm Plus prior to loading in the trailer and you can give another an hour prior to the show.  Many people also give a daily maintenance dose at evening feeding to prevent more serious digestive issues down the road.

Here is a note from one of our customers who recently started using it:

I bought GastroElm Plus for my gelding.  He was experiencing pain from ulcers which caused a decline in his performance.  He is a horse that has anxiety at times and this has helped tremendously.  He eats it all never leaving a spec 😁.  I am a barrel racer in South Florida and my horses are competing almost every weekend.  I started him on GastroElm Plus and by the 3rd day I noticed a change in him.  On the fifth day we went to a show and he performed one of his better runs placing out of 88 riders and showing no ulcer signs!

Thanks for making such a great product!

We hear lots of similar stories about how GastroElm Plus has helped horses feel better and perform better.  When the issues are in the cecum / hindgut it can take 2-3 weeks to start seeing results but these are issues that are often very difficult to treat.   Most owners will find that the horse’s demeanor improves, their energy level improves and they act more like they did in their younger days.

Nothing works for all animals (or humans) but overall we are extremely happy with the results we have seen over the past several years.  Read more about using GastroElm Plus for horses.
